According to Italian daily newspaper "Libero", Pope Benedict XVI is thinking about leaving the papacy next April, when he will turn 85
ANdrea Tornielli
Vatican City

There is one front page news story that will certainly not go unnoticed: that is, that the Pope is thinking about resigning during the Spring of 2012. Journalist Antonio Socci has confirmed the same in the Italian daily, Libero.
"For now,” Socci writes, “he is saying that this may be true (Joseph Ratzinger’s personal assumption), but I hope the story does not reach the news. But this rumor is circulating high up in the Vatican and therefore deserves close attention. The Pope has not rejected the possibility of his resignation when he turns 85 in April next year.”
Socci recalls that the assumption he will resign, without any hitches, was the same thing Ratzinger talked about in an interview in the book “Luce del mondo” (Light of the World), when, in response to a question by interviewer Peter Seewald, he said: “When a Pope arrives at a clear awareness that he no longer has the physical, mental, or psychological capacity to carry out the task that has been entrusted to him, then he has the right, and in some cases, even the duty to resign.” Furthermore, in another passage, Benedict XVI wondered if he would be able to “withstand it all, just from the physical point of view.”

NEW UPDATE!

 By Philip Pullella, Reuters

VATICAN CITY - Pope Benedict asked the faithful to pray for him and for the next pope, addressing a crowded St. Peter's Square in his penultimate Sunday address before becoming the first pontiff in centuries to resign.
The crowd chanted "Long live the pope!," waved banners and broke into sustained applause as he spoke from his window. The 85-year-old Benedict, who will resign on February 28, thanked them in several languages.
Speaking in Spanish, he told the crowd which the Vatican said numbered more than 50,000: "I beg you to continue praying for me and for the next pope".
It was not clear why the pope chose Spanish to make the only specific reference to his upcoming resignation in his Sunday address.

A number of cardinals have said they would be open to the possibility of a pope from the developing world, be it Latin America, Africa or Asia, as opposed to another from Europe, where the Church is crisis and polarized.
After his address, the pope retired into the Vatican's Apostolic Palace for a scheduled, week-long spiritual retreat and will not make any more public appearances until next Sunday.
Speaking in Italian in part of his address about Lent, the period when Christians reflect on their failings and seek guidance in prayer, the pope spoke of the difficulty of making important decisions.

A priest displays a placard in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican as he follows Pope Benedict XVI reciting the Angelus prayer from the window of his apartments, Sunday.

"In decisive moments of life, or, on closer inspection, at every moment in life, we are at a crossroads: do we want to follow the ‘I' or God? The individual interest or the real good, that which is really good?" he said.

Since his shock announcement last Monday, the pope has said several times that he made the difficult decision to become the first pope in more than six centuries to resign for the good of the Church.

The pope has said his physical and spiritual forces are no longer strong enough to sustain him in the job of leading the world's 1.2 billion Roman Catholics at a time of difficulties for the Church in a fast-changing world.

Benedict's papacy was rocked by crises over the sex abuse of children by priests in Europe and the United States, most of which preceded his time in office but came to light during it.

His reign also saw Muslim anger after he compared Islam to violence. Jews were upset over his rehabilitation of a Holocaust denier. During a scandal over the Church's business dealings, his butler was convicted of leaking his private papers.

People in the crowd said the pope was a shadow of the man he was when elected on April 19, 2005.
"Like always, recently, he seemed tired, moved, perplexed, uncertain and insecure," said Stefan Malabar, an Italian in
St. Peter's Square.

Pope Benedict XVI delivers his Angelus Blessing from the window of his private studio overlooking St. Peter's Square, Vatican City, on Sunday.

The Vatican has said the conclave to choose his successor could start earlier than originally expected, giving the Roman Catholic Church a new leader by mid-March.

Some 117 cardinals under the age of 80 will be eligible to enter the secretive conclave to elect Benedict's successor. Church rules say the conclave has to start between 15 and 20 days after the papacy becomes vacant, which it will on February 28.
The pope will say one more Sunday noon prayer on February 24, hold a final general audience on February 27. The next day he will take a helicopter to the papal summer retreat at Castle Gandalf, south of Rome, flying into the history books.
Vatican officials said he would stay there for the two months or so needed to restore the convent inside the Vatican where he will live out his remaining years.

http://www.cnbc.com/id/45013499/Vatican_Calls_for_Central_World_Bank_to_Be_Set_Up

The Vatican called on Monday for the establishment of a "global public authority" and a "central world bank" to rule over financial institutions that have become outdated and often ineffective in dealing fairly with crises...

"In fact, the crisis has revealed behaviors like selfishness, collective greed and hoarding of goods on a great scale," it said, adding that world economics needed an "ethic of solidarity" among rich and poor nations.

"If no solutions are found to the various forms of injustice, the negative effects that will follow on the social, political and economic level will be destined to create a climate of growing hostility and even violence, and ultimately undermine the very foundations of democratic institutions, even the ones considered most solid," it said.

It called for the establishment of "a supranational authority" with worldwide scope and "universal jurisdiction" to guide economic policies and decisions.

Such an authority should start with the United Nations as its reference point but later become independent and be endowed with the power to see to it that developed countries were not allowed to wield "excessive power over the weaker countries."

This type of order seems to be shown in Bible prophecy. The only one world order that will work is the one that Jesus will set up when he returns.

Wonder if the next pope will be black?

The Miracle of the Sun (Portuguese: O Milagre do Sol) was an event on 13 October 1917 in which 30,000 to 100,000 people, who were gathered near Fátima, Portugal, claimed to have witnessed extraordinary solar activity.
The people had gathered because three young shepherd children had predicted that at high noon the Blessed Virgin Mary would appear in a field in an area of Fatima called Cova da Iria. According to many witnesses, after a period of rain, the dark clouds broke and the sun appeared as an opaque, spinning disc in the sky.[1] It was said to be significantly duller than normal, and to cast multicolored lights across the landscape, the shadows on the landscape, the people, and the surrounding clouds.[1] The sun was then reported to have careened towards the earth in a zigzag pattern,[1] frightening those who thought it a sign of the end of the world.[2] Witnesses reported that their previously wet clothes became "suddenly and completely dry, as well as the wet and muddy ground that had been previously soaked because of the rain that had been falling".[3]
Estimates of number present range from 30,000 to 40,000 by Avelino de Almeida, writing for the Portuguese newspaper O Século,[4] to 100,000, estimated by Dr. Joseph Garrett, professor of natural sciences at the University of Coimbra,[5] both of whom were present that day.[6]
The event was attributed by believers to Our Lady of Fátima, a reported apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary to the children who had made predictions of the event on 13 July 1917,[7] 19 August,[8] and 13 September.[9] The children stated that the Lady had promised them that she would on 13 October reveal her identity to them[10] and provide a miracle "so that all may believe."[11]
According to these reports, the event lasted approximately ten minutes.[12] The three children also reported seeing a panorama of visions, including those of Jesus, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and of Saint Joseph blessing the people.[13]

There will be a false one before Jesus return in His second advent, by the antichrist and the false prophet, as seen in Rev.13.  Jesus return will first of all, be to stop it, in the battle of Armageddon as seen in Rev.19:17-20.

This in Line What the False Prophet will Do , Jesus Bless Israel is Gods Time Line.

The false prophet will cause fire to come down from heaven to earth, according to Rev.13:13 during the coming events of the seven year tribulation, prior to Jesus second advent, to put a stop to it, in Rev.19:17-20.  It is a scientific fact, if the sun were to be a single degree closer to the earth, humans could not survive the heat.

An example of events to come pertaining to the sun are recorded in Rev.15:8-9 with reference to the fifth bowl plague, that will result in intense heat that will literally scorch the people living then.  In addition, the present heavens and earth will be destroyed by fire, according to 2 Pet.3:7, but the sun is not mentioned as being the cause of it.

Almost every paranormal visions and sightings have their origin in Catholicism, in which the "Miracle of the sun" is a case and point from which comes the following example of extreme is illustrated:

IMO, as well as that of many other expositors, they are the "Mystery Babylon the Great The Mother of Prostitutes and of the Abominations of the Earth, of Rev.17:5-16 where the beast [antichrist] and ten horns [nations] will destroy her and set up their one world religion to worship the antichrist instead, as found in Rev.13:14-15 and 2 Thes.2:4.

I think He will come from the SUN CULTS or as they are known today: "THE NEW WORLD ORDER" Read>> Fatima >>>> very interesting.

Marduk(Ra) is the ancient deity of the sun cults. Horus is the false christ from the sun cults. His name can be found in the scriptures listed as Tammuz.

What we are looking at is a type of return of these ancient deities. There is nothing new under the sun.

The false god, false "mother, or goddess", and false christ can be seen throughout the world religions through history. They have been undercover so to speak for along time, but are about to make an open appearance again.

Christians are going to need the standard of God, and their authority in Christ if they are going to withstand these things.

Interesting input, thanks servant.  It is well to not, Tammuz is also one of the Hebrew calendar months.  See:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tammuz_(Hebrew_month)

Other than that it is all out of religious legend and has nothing to do with legitimate prophecy, as found in the following:

The final world ruler before the return of Christ in His second advent is the beast out of the sea, whom the dragon, who is Satan, will give his throne, power and great authority to as documented in Rev.13:1-8.

I am not sure what your point is, servant.  Both the NASB and the NIV have vs 38 using the word "fortresses" rather than forces, and that he will HONOR this god of fortresses with gifts of gold and silver and favor all who also honor him.

That does not alter who the beast/antichrist is nor that Satan is going to give HIM his throne. power and great authority to in Rev.13:1-3.  Not to anyone else.

The same demonic type spirit of Marduk(Ra) that empowered the Pharaohs those years ago are a type of what is coming. Those "gods" are on the rise and things will get interesting. There is a false trinity that will be played out all over the world through the various religions, and has already been seen for centuries. Only it will become one false trinity for all to bow down to that says their Jesus type savior is the exact same person as the false "Father" or god of forces. The same idea as Buddhists and Hindus have with their avatars. Their top dog can have hundreds of spin offs. I see the same idea being played out with the rise of the son of perdition.

This is why the whole trinity thing in Christianity could be a snare for a lot of people when this starts to ramp up more.

Then if I understand what you are saying, you believe there are other sources of demons/gods, than those that originate from Biblical sources?  Meaning, you believe legendary sources as being true?  Then you don't believe what the Egyptians believed was Marduk [RA], was in fact the spirit of a dead Nephilim, whose spirits are earthbound until the day of judgement?  Such spirits were given many different names in legend, but the sources are real and they all came from the spirits of the dead Nephilim.

No more until I have your response.

People were worshiping demons. Those demons are linked with names through history by possessing people. And, yes, I believe they are spirits of dead Nephilim/ men of renown actually. In order to see the history of the pattern of the kingdom of Satan, it is helpful to know what characteristic the "god", "demi-god" had in history. It really is interesting the repeated tactics. There is nothing new under the sun.

It is worthy of noting what we read in Dan.10:4-13 and 20 where the prince of the Persian kingdom reisted the theophany of Jesus [pre-incarnate] for 21 days, in his trip from heaven to the earth.  Then in his return to heaven, to fight him again as well as the prince of Greece.  He had to be helped by Michael, the archangel against those demons, the spirits of the Nephilim.

As Paul wrote in Eph.6:12, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms."

Where I agree with what you have written in the above, however, when it comes to the beast out of the sea, the antichrist of Rev.12:1-8, he was a human being, not a Nephilim, who was killed, is now in the Abyss [Sheol/Hades/Hell], but will be brought forth from there by Satan, as found in Rev.17:8 and 11.  As such, I still do not read the point you are attempting to make here.  Please enlighten me.

The following article may be of interest to you:

Where to find the Nephilim/giants of the earth who became the demons of the Bible:

GIANTS

ji'-ants The word appears in the King James Version as the translation of the Hebrew words nephilim ( ); repha'im ( , etc.); rapha' ( ), or raphah ( ); in one instance of gibbor, literally, "mighty one" ( ).
In the first two cases the Revised Version (British and American) changes "giants" into the Hebrew words "Nephilim," nephilim, and "Rephaim," repha'im, respectively. The "Nephilim of are not to be confounded with the "mighty men" subsequently described as the offspring of the unlawful marriages, of "the sons of God" and "the daughters of men." It is told that they overspread the earth prior to these unhallowed unions. That the word, whatever its etymology, bears the sense of men of immense stature is evident from the later passages; . The same is true of the "Rephaim," as shown by the instance of Og ( ). There is no doubt about the meaning of the word in the ease of the giants mentioned in and .

When did Giants live?
Those mentioned in the Bible, Nephilim, Emim and Anakim, may have been a tiny element of a once expansive human giant civilization, especially before the Great Flood of the Bible, and other sources.
Giants (1.) Heb. nephilim , meaning "violent" or "causing to fall" (Gen 6:4). These were the violent tyrants of those days, those who fell upon others. The word may also be derived from a root signifying "wonder," and hence "monsters" or "prodigies." In Num 13:33 this name is given to a Canaanitish tribe, a race of large stature, "the sons of Anak." The Revised Version, in these passages, simply transliterates the original, and reads "Nephilim." (2.) Heb. rephaim , a race of giants (Deu 3:11) who lived on the east of Jordan, from whom was descended. They were probably the original inhabitants of the land before the immigration of the Canaanites. They were conquered by Chedorlaomer (Gen 14:5), and their territories were promised as a possession to Abraham (Gen 15:20). The Anakim, Zuzim, and Emim were branches of this stock. In Job 26:5 (R.V., "they that are deceased;" marg., "the shades," the "Rephaim") and Isa 14:9 this Hebrew word is rendered (A.V.) "dead." It means here "the shades," the departed spirits in Sheol. In Sam2 21:16, Sam2 21:18, Sam2 21:20, 33, "the giant" is (A.V.) the rendering of the singular form ha raphah, which may possibly be the name of the father of the four giants referred to here, or of the founder of the Rephaim. The Vulgate here reads "Arapha," whence Milton (in Samson Agonistes) has borrowed the name "Harapha." (See also Ch1 20:5, Ch1 20:6, Ch1 20:8; Deu 2:11, Deu 2:20; Deu 3:13; Jos 15:8, etc., where the word is similarly rendered "giant.") It is rendered "dead" in (A.V.) Psa 88:10; Pro 2:18; Pro 9:18; Pro 21:16 : in all these places the Revised Version marg. has "the shades." (See also Isa 26:14.) (3.) Heb. 'Anakim (Deu 2:10, Deu 2:11, Deu 2:21; Jos 11:21, Jos 11:22; Jos 14:12, Jos 14:15; called "sons of Anak," Num 13:33; "children of Anak," Num 13:22; Jos 15:14), a nomad race of giants descended from Arba (Jos 14:15), the father of Anak, that dwelt in the south of Palestine near Hebron (Gen 23:2; Jos 15:13). They were a Cushite tribe of the same race as the Philistines and the Egyptian shepherd kings. David on several occasions encountered them (Sam2 21:15). From this race sprung Goliath (Sa1 17:4). (4.) Heb. 'emin , a warlike tribe of the ancient Canaanites. They were "great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims" (Gen 14:5; Deu 2:10, Deu 2:11). (5.) Heb. Zamzummim (q.v.), Deu 2:20 so called by the Amorites. (6.) Heb. gibbor (Job 16:14), a mighty one, i.e., a champion or hero. In its plural form (gibborim) it is rendered "mighty men" (2 Sam. 23:8-39; Kg1 1:8; 1 Chr. 11:9-47; Ch1 29:24.) The band of six hundred whom David gathered around him when he was a fugitive were so designated. They were divided into three divisions of two hundred each, and thirty divisions of twenty each. The captains of the thirty divisions were called "the thirty," the captains of the two hundred "the three," and the captain over the whole was called "chief among the captains" (Sam2 23:8). The sons born of the marriages mentioned in Gen 6:4 are also called by this Hebrew name.

The Bibllical names of the giants on the earth

There is a tell-tale "mark" if you will, that can be found in the names for the angelic hierarchy. There is the peculiar "im" at the end of most of the names of giant and angel alike. Keep in mind, that the name for the "triune" God is "Elohim" in the Hebrew. Not to confuse God with the Enemy, but this shows a definite linguistic trademark. It is the stamp of "made in heaven". If your still doubting the nature of the nephillim, then you must look at the meaning of their names to get a better picture of what they were. As shown earlier, the term "nephillim" is a generic term designating all the various "tribes". There is a great deal to be learned from the etymology of the names of these things. There were "tribes", and each tribe was distinct. To show the "distinctive" differences between each tribe, we must do a little digging:

Rephaim
Anakim
Emim
Zuzim
Zamzumim
Horim
Zophim
Caphtorim
Gammadim
Seirim
Shedim

Nephillim

-raphah; a giant, dead [Strong's ref. 7497, 7496]
- anaqiy; a desc. Of Anak, to choke, necklace [Strong's ref. 6062, '60,59]
- eymiym; terrors, fright, horror, fear [Strong's ref. 367, '8]
- zuziym; aboriginal tribe, a wild beast [Strong's ref. 2104, '23]
- zamzom; intriguing, native tribe,to plan, devise evil [Strong's ref. 2157,61]
- choriy; cave dweller, troglodyte [Strong's ref. 2752]
- tsophiym; watchers, to observe, to wait for [Strong's ref. 6839, '22]
- kaphtoriy; to encircle, origin of the philistines [Strong's ref. 3732, '31,30]
- gammad; a warrior, to grasp, [Strong's ref. 1575, '74]
- sayir;devil, satyr, he-goat, hairy [Strong's ref. 8163]
- shed; a devil, demon, insolence, waste [strong's ref. 7700, '36]
- nephiyl; a giant, feller, cast down, be judged, fugitive, thrown down, fallen, an abortion [Strong's ref. 5303, '07]

The most interesting of these is the translation for the word"Zophim", This word comes from the root from which we get the word "eyes". This name is also a title of one of the offices of the angelic host, the "watchers" (see Dan.4:17). Put in your head the adjective "observe" in description of the Zophim. Bury this correlation into your brain, because later on you will begin to SEE the light in some bible prophecy I will explain later. Needless to say, all the meanings of these names give somewhat of a descriptive picture of what these things were and about. Ancient Hebrew tradition calls the Anakim the "long-necked ones" (compare with the description of what is known as a "reptilian"). The translation for the word "Caphtorim"shows that the Philistines roots are traced to the nephillim. Goliath was a Philistine, and he was also an Anakim. You will find certain nephillim in scripture that have "six fingers and six toes". Another nephillims weapon and armor are recorded in the bible to have weighed between an estimated 300 to 400 pounds! Another giants "bed" is recorded in the bible as being 21 feet long by 13 feet wide (this is based on the measurement of a cubit, which can not be exactly determined today. I'm basing this measurement on the 27 inch cubit). Ancient Hebrew myths and legends record the nephillim as being 300 feet tall! I'm not kidding. Check it out for yourself. I mean, do these sound like "humans" to you? Lets face it, these THINGS were absolutely NOT HUMAN. We are not just talking about "demon possessed men" here, were talking THING!. God will sometimes relate these to the realm of "men" in scripture, as they were FLESH, but they were NOT human. If anything they were half-human at best, and definitely a MUTATION or HYBRID. Thats what the scripture shows!. In essence, they were (are still?) a "doorway of the physical," from one state ( fallen angel), to another (demon). Nephillim are the least powerful of the hierarchy. They are "confined" to a "house of flesh", which limits their "supernatural" capabilities. I'm telling you, they weren't teaching you everything in Sunday school!. These beings are referred ever so subtly under the text.
