Hell Rising

At the time of Pentecost Jesus gave to his church the gift of the Holy Spirit and the authority over all the powers of the enemy. In theory Satan should never have been able to lift his head again or regain a solid foot hold over humanity. For the most part the early church did do well and all the old pagan or demonic gods that held sway over the human race at that time was systematically driven out and their temples abandoned to decay into dust. Their memory fading away until future generations considered them just ancient tales of myths and legends of the backward and superstitious.

But there is one common thyme found in both the old and new testaments regarding the end of the age. The power of the Holy people is to be broken and shattered and Satan is to rise into a position of power over humanity once again, just before the current age comes to an end.

What this article is looking at is how this is being achieved and how the methods that Satan is using works. As can be expected it is using the old lie of “you shall be as gods” and the destruction of integrity that mammon can buy.

Dan 12:7  And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
Dan 12:8  And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
Dan 12:9  And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

The passage above comes from the prophet Daniel who was one of the Judaic captives in Babylon around the year 600 BC. Now verse 9 indicates the time where this prophecy is to take place and indicates the time of the end. What we understand as the last days. The passage is in relation to the last world ruler and what he does but the verse of interest is verse 7.

“and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.”

Now the concept of holy people in biblical terminology refers to those  people that are the servants of the God of the bible. In other words the Jews and the Christians. To scatter the power of the holy people is to break their power. To render them powerless regardless of the idea that they are supposed to be backed by God himself.  This event of breaking the power of the holy people is linked to the concept that it marks the end. All things finished concerning what was spoken about in relation to the last days and rise of the last world dictatorship.

Now the big question is, just how is this supposedly impossible feat to be accomplished. Again scripture explains just how this is done. Verse 1 in the passage below makes it plain that this passage is referring to the last days or the end of the age.

2Ti 3:1  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:6  For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Ti 3:7  Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2Ti 3:8  Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
2Ti 3:9  But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

Now viewing that passage from the perspective of what the scriptures uphold as god-fearing people, that passage accurately describes what our modern secular society actually behaves like.  Society does have a policy of me, myself and I and the pursuit of personal happiness even if it is to the detriment of others they hold in positions of contempt. Further there is no question as to how secular society hold the followers of God in absolute contempt. So much so they are even passing laws to rid themselves of any influence of the scriptures in their midst. However the verse that is of importance to this subject is verse 5.

“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

That verse explains how the power of the Holy People gets shattered in the last days. To have a form of godliness is to have a scriptural based theology but to deny the power of it is to leave out the source of power behind the scriptures which is God himself. The God of the bible gets replaced with another of the imagination. This has been achieved from many different angles of deliberate attack. The most damaging being the redefining of the meaning of many words in the Christian vocabulary, not least of which is the word faith. Below is another passage that supports the understanding of how this breaking of the power of the Holy People takes place.

2Th 2:1  Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2Th 2:2  That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2Th 2:3  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4  Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2Th 2:5  Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

For there to be a falling away just before the Lord returns means that the Holy People had to fall away from the tenants and original doctrines of their basic faith. By falling away from those original doctrines they will naturally be cut off from the power of their faith which is of course, God himself. Hence their power will be shattered and they will be rendered powerless to stop the rise of Satan once again.

Now this is not some form of new procedure. It is just a repeat of the same tactics that Satan used in the past that resulted in the captivities of the Israelites in the past. Only now it is being applied to the church and the same results can be expected, as demonstrated in the passage below. Only this passage is also prophetic and ties in to the last days as well, which makes it rather interesting.

Isa 2:6  Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
Isa 2:7  Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots:
Isa 2:8  Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
Isa 2:9  And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not.
Isa 2:10  Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty.

Verse 10 of that passage is giving the same descriptions of events that take place in connection to the rapture and is repeated in the sixth seal of Revelations. Thus indicating that the descriptions of conditions will be looking at that time period as well. Now the main verse of interest is verse 6 as this explains why this generation was forsaken by God. Gods people are supposed to be filled with the Holy Spirt and be replenished from the throne of God but here they are being replenished from the east.

Now this passage is talking about events just before the end so the process is still underway at this time and on cue you can see this process currently gaining ground and fast becoming main stream. The eastern philosophies and practices have gained a foothold in the church and are being used as a replacement for the original doctrines handed down by the first Apostles. Added to this is the result that the spirit of the eastern religions is also manifesting in the churches and being called the Holy Spirit when it is nothing of the sort. In effect an avalanche situation has been set in place.

As the church drifted away from the correct doctrines the Holy Spirit withdrew and the saints went into a time of drought where they were looking for the gifts of the spirit but were coming up dry. Then as the eastern teaching gained traction so the spirit from the east started to be able to manifest and the saints chased after it thinking it was God’s Spirit. Of course these manifestations of the counterfeit became the encouragement to delve deeper into the eastern philosophies disguised with Christian terminology so the result is full blown apostasy. Hence the great falling away is now in full swing and its implementation will soon be completed.  We have reached the stage where the resistance to repentance is coming from inside the church body itself.  To turn this situation around will literally result in the saints having to oppose the saints as in a form of civil war as those few left that do know their God will be pitted against the greater majority that now believe the counterfeit is of God. Hence the Apostles described this time as perilous times.

This situation of substitution through deception was foreseen by the Apostle Paul and he made mention of it in his letters. It was obviously something he worried about!

2Co 11:2  For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
2Co 11:3  But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
2Co 11:4  For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

Well this unfortunately is exactly what has happened. The Church has been given a new Christ that is different from the one found in the scriptures that the Apostles taught about. The Apostles taught that Jesus was the only begotten Son of God. The new christ that has been presented is god. It does not matter how cleverly the scriptures can be bisected and pieced together to make another picture. It was always the Apostles intent that we relate to Christ as the only begotten Son of God. They never intended that he be viewed as God himself.

The Apostles taught that the church is to be the bride of Christ that Jesus is to present to his Father God. The new doctrines say we are to become sinless saints and become like christ so as to be Christ.

The Apostles taught that Jesus is going to return for us and gather us to himself. The new doctrines say we are to progress to the point where we get our new bodies now  and are to eat of the tree of life now and ascend to a higher plain now and gain immortality now. That is pure eastern philosophy that has been reworded so as to make it sound all biblical.

In fact this is one of the main things that Jesus told us to look out for when he was telling of what things would be like when he was to return.

Mat 24:4  And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
Mat 24:5  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

The whole Christ consciousness movement laid the ground work for this and now we have more and more people rising up claiming that they are the christ or the reincarnation of such. They teach how to be sinless saints and spiritualise the scriptures so as to make them say something other than what they do. God only made one Christ, there is no other and there is never going to be any other.  We only get one! We can serve Christ and we can be in submission to him but we can never be him.

With this as well has come a redefinition of the Godhead. The original trinity doctrine  gets thrown out the window and the oneness doctrine introduced and then called the trinity doctrine, thus opening up a whole list of errors that can follow. But you get the picture. The steady stream of errors are now flowing non stop. As the church first drifted away from the original teachings of the first Apostles with the prosperity teachings, so also the Spirit of God withdrew and the gifts of the spirit started to dry up. Instead of going back and repenting and seeking the Lord the errors just became more and more absurd until the spirit of this world moved in and made itself at home. Jesus told us that we are to seek God. But with the new oneness doctrine Jesus is God so now we no longer even have the saints coming before the throne of grace anyway. Of course the church is now in a mess.

Mat 6:33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

In order to accommodate the failing of the divine prosperity message the definition of the word faith was changed to sound more super spiritual and to place the operation of Gods power on self instead of God himself and this has now carried over into all the other following errors. Hence we now have the situation where the saints are no longer coming before Gods throne of grace but before Jesus who’s ministry is supposed to be that of our reconciler between men and God and the saints no longer place their faith in God or Christ but try and develop their faith to the point where they can force the gifts of the spirit by their own will power.

1Ti 2:5  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Mar 11:22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

The list of deceptions is now growing daily, you are all coming across them. They are being accepted in accordance with the Apostles prophetic warnings of the falling away and Daniels warning that the power of the Holy People will be shattered. But we have also been promised that those that endure to the end are the ones that will be saved. There would never have been a call for endurance unless it was needed and many are going to be those who’s lamps will be without oil come the time of the night.

Rev 22:12  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Rev 22:13  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Rev 22:14  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Rev 22:15  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

As can be seen, our access to the tree of life can only take place after the return of Christ and this tree is located in the city that has not come into being yet.

There is little to find in the above that is not in complete accordance with the present day status of those who hide behind the title of Christianity.  In addition to the many who brazensly teach false prophecy as Paul clearly defined it in 2 Tim.4:3-4.  However, in the one area I would disagree with David, is where he states the "Great Falling Away has come and gone."  To the contrary, we have but seen the tip of the iceberg of it at this very time.  The seven year tribulation is yet to come, following the rapture of the Church, which must come first, according to 2 Thes.2:1-8. I was disapointed David didn't use more of the Scriptures to reinforce his narrative, though.

It is very unfortunate the very term David uses, "the Great Falling Away," is a mistranslation of 2 Thes.2:3, for the Greek term "apostasia" as well as the Latin translation of it, "discessio," Jerome used to translate it from the Septuagint in 325 A.D.  The text Paul uses the term for, is about a rapture, as the theme of the text it is used in is in vs one, where it states: "Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to Him..."  Confirming 1 Thes.4:17, which states: "After that, we who are still alive and are left will be CAUGHT UP TOGETHER WITH THEM IN THE CLOUDS TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR."

The term falling away and apostasy are also terms "apostasia: is used for, but it depaends on the text as to when they are used as such.  There is nothing whatever in 2 Thes.2:1-8 that has anything at all in the text about the Church falling away!  But rather, as the them clearly reveals, it is about a rapture.  Which is confirmed in vs 7 where the Church will be taken out of the way, as it will depart in vs 3!

Well he is only able to take a stand in the light of where he is at in his own spiritual growth, after all all of us are at different stages of development spiritually.

But the good part is that there is the encouragement that there are others out there that are understanding that the deceptions that the church is supposed to be standing against has started to gain a foothold in the church itself which is the first step to recognizing the problem so the motive can be found to stand against it. You only need a few with the understanding to explain it to the rest.

Blessings in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ who came in the flesh and now sits at the right hand of our God on high. A confession of faith that the modern Evangelical movement can no longer make!

No problem with people expressing what they see as obvious signs and correctly assess them.  But not at the expense of misinterpreting eschatological interpretations.

Nov 26 11 7:42 AM On the other hand:

There are some controversial issues in the above article that a critique will be made when and as time permits, in all points being considered.1.  There is little doubt in the assessment that there is now, and will continue to get worse, a falling away, that involves the Church, as described above, in the following:
2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
However, old testament prophecy has no bearing on the Church, but rather, pertains exclusively to Israel, referred to from the above in the following:
Dan 12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
Dan 12:8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
Dan 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
The power of the holy people referred to in the above, pertains exclusively to Israel, and has nothing whatever to do with the Church.  See Zech.14:1-4, for an example of the scattering of Israel at the time Jesus returns in His second advent, in vs 5.  with the rest of the chapter revealing the disposition of the nations who attacked Israel into the Millennial kingdom.

2.  The passage in 2 Thes.2:1-8 is not one of the Church falling away, but rather of the timing of the Church being gathered unto Christ in the clouds of the sky, in which the very theme is that of 1 Thes.4:17.  From the abovepost as follows:

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
From 1 Thes.4:17:  "After that, we who are still alive and are left, will be caught up together with them [the dead in Christ] to meet the Lord in the air."  Compare with the following:2 Thes;2:1:  "Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered unto Him..."  Direct reference to 1 Thes.4:17!  Let's examine in the following description of the rapture of the Church exactly what that means to all of us who belong to Christ:See the following:

Beginning with Jn.14:2-4 and 28:

"In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you [See Jn.20:17]. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going." [Jn.14:2-4].

"You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I." [Jn.14:28].

The Scriptures tell us where we all go, who belong to Christ, after the death of our bodies:"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." As recorded in 2 Cor.5:8, confirming Ecc.12:7. Which is, in and of itself, conclusive to the fact that Jesus is not going to let the rest of His Church remain on earth to go through the seven year tribulation, when He returns for those of us who are still alive, waiting for His appearing. When He has already raised all those who have died in Him, to be with Him, immediately after their physical death, over the past 2,000 years.A look at 1 Thes.4:13-18:The Thessalonians were very concerned about those among them who had died, that they would not be gathered together with the rest of them when Jesus returned. Paul assures them in vs 13-14 that they will all be returning with Christ from heaven, where they have been since He raised them up to be with Him, the day they died physically, according to 2 Cor.5:6-8."We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him [Died physically]. Vs 14."According to the Lord's own word [Scriptural truth as to the fact that Jesus taught there was to be a pre-trib rapture of the Church, as recorded in Jn.14:2-4 and 28], we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left to the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep." Vs 15. An assurance by Paul to the Thessalonians that the dead in Christ had already been raised from the dead before, and were already with Christ when He returns for all those left on earth alive at His coming.Because they have already been raised, each in his/her own turn, according to 1 Cor.15:23. That is the very reason it is not documented as a resurrection in the Scriptures."For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven [With all His saints,, according to vs 14], with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first" [Paul again assures them, as seen in verses 13-14, they were already previously raised once before, each in his/her own turn, as they died, over the past 2,000 years]. Vs 16."After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the sky. And so we will be with the Lord forever." Vs 17. Where we proceed with Jesus to our Father in heaven as He promised us in Jn.14:2-4 and 28.

"Therefore encourage each other with these words." Vs 18.The precise timing of the rapture of the Church:"Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to Him, we ask you, brothers, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the Day of the Lord [The 70th and final Week/seven year tribulation] has already come." 2 Thes.2:1-2.

The "Day of the Lord" Paul refers to in vs 2, alludes to Dan.9:27, when God will intervene into the affairs of man for the last time, culminating in the second coming of Jesus to the earth. In that passage of Scripture, the Day of the Lord is triggered by the "he" who "confirms a covenant for one Week" [The Day of the Lord/ 70th and final Week/seven year tribulation], who is the antichrist. The second, and same "he," who stops Israel from the offerings and sacrificing in the temple of God, and the third, and same "he," who breaks his covenant in the middle of the Week [After 3.5 of the 7 year total], and sets up the abomination of desolation Jesus referred to in Mt.24:15, in His Olivet Discourse, about the sign of His second coming, and of the end of the age."Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that Day [The Day of the Lord, the 70th and final Week, the seven year tribulation] will not come, until the "apostasia" [Greek term in which the original meaning was "to depart," or "departure," meaning, the rapture of the Church] occurs and the man of lawlessness [The antichrist, and all three of the "he's" in Dan.9:27] is revealed [Who triggers the Day of the Lord/ the 70th and final Week/ the seven year tribulation], the man doomed to destruction." Vs 3. [Go to the following URL for the original translation history of the Greek term, "apostasia"]http://www.raptureready.com/featured/ice/TheRapturein2Thessalonians2_3.html"He [The antichrist] will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God." Vs 4. [The abomination of desolation, confirming Dan.9:27 and Mt.24:15].The rapture of the Church and verse 3 confirmed:"For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so until he is taken out of the way." Vs 7.

The "he" who will be taken out of the way, is the one body of Christ, each of us bearing the Holy Spirit within us [Eph.1:13-14], the Church of Jesus Christ. The very same as those who will participate in the "apostasia," the "departure," the rapture of the Church, in vs 3. Immediately following that:

"And then the lawless one [The antichrist] will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of His mouth and destroy by the splendor of His coming." Vs 8. [See Rev.19:17-21].

The antichrist is the same person found in Dan.7:23-27; 8:9-12 and in 9:27, confirmed by Paul, in 2 Thes.2:3-4, 8.From the above Scriptural facts, there can be only one proper interpretation for the timing of the rapture of the Church, which will be immediately preceding the 70th and final week/7 year tribulation, triggered by the antichrist, all three of the "he's" in Dan.9:27. Seen also as the first of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, riding the white horse, in the first of the seven seals, in Rev.6:2. There is no "pre-wrath" or post-trib rapture taught in the Scriptures.See the following for the difference between the pre-trib rapture of the Church an the second coming of Christ:http://www.pre-trib.org/data/pdf/Ice...eenTheRapt.pdfAll parenthetics, mine. From the above Scriptural revelation of the coming pre-trib rapture of the Church, it is clear, all of us who belong to Christ will not go through the seven year tribulation as we find in Lk.21:36; 1 Thes.1:10; 5:9; Rev.3:10 and in 4:1-2.

No one who belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ is headed for hell as recorded in Mt.25:46 and Jn.10:27-29!
