Quasar, In Matthew 24:24, Jesus warns, “For false christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect-if that were possible.” I thought this pertaiined to the tribulation.  2 Thessalonians 2:9 says, “The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders.” which IMO indicates does talk about the  Anti-Christ when he sets up his kingdom during the tribulation.

Now, we have false Christs but they are few and most Christians are not fooled. We have false teaching and IMO many are fooled but true Christians have discernment, and should pray for it, The main question I have is how does anyone, and that includes Christians, recognize when a miracle is of God or it is a false miracle such as the magicians in Moses time performed?

Hi Beloved,

I'm happy to see you here again, first of all, and yes, indeed, Mt.24 4-31, Jesus Olivet Discourse, is an amplification of Dan.9:27.  Seen also in Mk.13 and in Lk.21.  Which is the 70th and final week of God's decree on the destiny of Israel/The seven year tribulation and the Day of the Lord, all one and the same thing.

Actually, it is the False Prophet, who is described as the second beast out of the earth, who will perform all those great and miraculous signs he was given the power to do by the Antichrist, who is described as the first beast out of the sea, whom Satan will give his throne, power and great authority to, all recorded in Rev.13:1-18.  Where Satan is described as the dragon.  See also Rev.12:9.

Satan will bring the Antichrist up out of the Abyss, in Rev.17:8 and 11, where he is described as "once was, now is not, and will come up out of the Abyss and go to his destruction," in Rev.19:20.  He is the person who triggers the 70th week/the seven year tribulation, recorded in Dan.9:27 and in Rev.6:2.

Now the good news about all of that, is the fact that no one who belongs to Christ will experience any of that.  Because we will all depart, in 2 Thess.2:3, be taken out of the way, in vs 7.  Let me explain those details for you from the following link:

There is much more to this issue but let me know if you have any questions about it up to this point and we can go from there.
